Freeze / Storm Prep

• Wash and blow dry your hair

• Do your laundry

• Fill your tub (or pots, vases, etc.) with water

• Freeze a solo cup full of water and put a coin on top in freezer door - if the power comes back on and the coin is at the bottom of the cup, you need to toss everything in your freezer

• Check flashlight batteries

• Charge cell phones and power bricks

• Put all of your batteries, lights, candles and chargers on your kitchen table the night before so you don't have to go looking for stuff in the dark

• Download music, movies, books, and games on your phone because you may not have internet or cell service

• Freeze-specific:

  • Disconnect outside hoses

  • Outside plants go in the garage

  • Open cabinet doors under sinks to let warm air in

  • Build an insulated tent on your bed
